St. Francis de Sales and St. Jane de Chantel
These two remarkable saints share the pinnacle moment when Salesian Spirituality took root with the 1610 foundation of the Order of the Visitation in Annecy, France. Francis wrote in the Book of Vows on the profession of the first three Visitation sisters: “We have no bond but the bond of love.” This sentiment is the hallmark of the Salesian Spirituality that is lived and shared by the members of The North American Salesian Network.
Let Some Words from Our Salesian Saints Guide Your Way
“I feel a great yearning, a strong need of becoming a saint. I never knew it could be so easy, but now I see one can be happy and holy, too. I absolutely want to become asaint! I must!” – St. Dominic Savio
“When I return home, I will teach my people the ways of God. I will start a school for the children and teach them peace. I am going to be a Salesian priest and will be their spiritual chief.” – Zepherin Namucura
“To the young: I love you with all my heart, and it is sufficient for me that you are young to love you deeply… You will hardly find anyone who will love you more in Jesus Christ and who will have greater concern for your happiness.” – St. John Bosco
